How to Install Best Protection Ceramic Coating for Car

The first step in installing ceramic coating is getting the product from a credible company. You shouldn’t need a professional to do the installation. In fact, most companies today offer online courses to allow people to learn how to do the best installations on their cars.

Ceramic coating classes are easy to follow, and classes don’t take long. After completing the course and getting certification, you shouldn’t be worried about how to do the installation. Your car deserves a good look, and you can do that if you know how to do it correctly.

The Preparation Process

Before doing anything, it’s crucial to do proper preparation. You can contract a professional company to do the ceramic coating installation. However, there’s a growing craze of do-it-yourself car enthusiasts who love to do it themselves.

Such individuals need proper guidance to get the process accurate. Ceramic coating classes encourage car owners to go through the process as professional detailers do. But first, here’s what you must do:

  1. Do a Deep Car Wash

Ceramic coating for cars needs a completely clean surface to bond correctly. To get the car free of debris, wash your car by hand to pay more attention to detail. You can do one bucket with soap and another with clean water to rinse the car.

Effective washing must include a car soap that is aggressive enough to eliminate contaminants. However, it should not be too harsh to damage the paint surface.

Experts recommend wax-free car soaps, but the pH does not have to be neutral. Preferably clean the car in a shade. Usually, direct sunlight causes the soap to stick to the car’s exterior.

  1. Remove Iron Particles from the Surface

After rinsing the car, don’t worry about drying it off. The next step should be removing iron particles, also known as industrial fallout. When metal burns or friction occurs, it results in iron deposits. For example, when you step on the brakes, the application creates fine dust that flies into the air and lands on cars.

Decontamination at this point involves an iron remover spray. Again, do it away from direct sunlight. Iron removers are aggressive and dry quickly.

  1. Correcting the Paint

You must find ceramic coating classes that teach how to do this step. Although many DIY’ers fear it, it’s straightforward. Polishing the paint or paint correction involves the gentle removal of swirl marks.

Ask about the best products to use to make this step more efficient. It’s advisable to use the ones your instructor uses in your ceramic coating course. On the other hand, you can choose to involve a professional to help with this step.

  1. Panel Wipe

This is the final step before ceramic paint coating. The panel wiping removes oils, wax, and any residue. A good stripper product can do the job.  Do the following for this stage:

Step 1: Apply the stripper to a clean microfiber cloth

Step 2: Wipe the entire car’s surface

Step 3: Use another clean, dry microfiber cloth to buff off

Applying the Ceramic Coating

By now, you’re certain that the car is clean and contaminant-free. Then these steps follow:

  1. Apply Ceramic Coating Primer or Activator

Apply your choice of ceramic paint coating all around the car. The best applicator to use is a microfiber cloth. Afterwards, wait about three to five minutes for bonding to occur. This coating should last you a lifetime. No residues are noticeable once you finish.

  1. Apply Coating Ceramic Protection

Here, experts advise the use of a brush to apply the paste to the following parts of the car:

  • Mirrors
  • Glass
  • Plastic
  • Wheels
  1. Get the Ceramic Paint Coating

The car is now ready for your coat of ceramic paint. Apply the paint in circular motion with an applicator and clean microfiber cloth.  Gently massaging the paint on the car’s surface helps to make the bonding process smoother.

Wait 15 minutes, then go around the car with a soft microfiber cloth to polish the surface. You can repeat this step to polish your coating every six to nine months. The result is a fine glossy finish that makes the car look new. But most importantly, the ceramic coating prevents scratches, fading and peeling, which are great for the car.
